Overview
The video game adaption of the acclaimed film of the same name. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is a follow up the well received adaption of the first two films in the trilogy. The game expands on what The Two Towers accomplished, with the action and adventure sequel introducing three separate story lines from the movie: one following Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli, as The Two Towers did, another following Gandalf, and a third following Frodo and Sam, with Merry, Pippin, and Faramir serving as unlockable characters. Gameplay features were also expanded upon, including multiplayer.

• Complete the game once to unlock the production interviews in the extras menu.
• Spend experience points at the end of every level: prioritize combo attacks and defensive skills over cosmetic upgrades.
• Max out each playable character's skill ranks (Perfect rating) to unlock final upgrades and in-game completion rewards.
• In co-op mode, pair a melee character (Aragorn or Gimli) with a ranged one (Legolas) so you can cover each other.
• Master the perfect parry: press attack right as an enemy flashes before striking; it deals bonus damage and charges your power meter faster.
• Save healing potions for boss fights: on higher difficulty they run out fast and level pickups don't respawn.
• Smash every barrel and crate in each stage: they drop potions and arrows that are essential during orc waves.
• Replay completed levels on higher difficulty to farm experience points and level up weaker characters before the final assault.
