Streets of Rage
Overview
Streets of Rage is a side-scrolling beat 'em up video game developed and published by Sega in 1991 for Mega Drive/Genesis. It is the first installment of the Bare Knuckle/Streets of Rage series which was followed by Streets of Rage 2 and Streets of Rage 3. The game was converted to Game Gear, Sega CD and Master System. In 2007, the game was released for the Wii's Virtual Console in North America and Europe, and in 2009 it was released for the iOS via the App Store. It was again made available as part of Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection in 2009 on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Streets of Rage (1991) - Cheats and Tips
• Cat secret: in the first stage, after the bridge area, break the phone booth or the interactive object in the next area to reveal a cat that helps you attack enemies.
• Save your special attack: the special move (attack button combined with the dodge direction) hits all nearby enemies, but costs health if it misses. Use it only when surrounded.
• Heal with food: chickens and apples restore health; the cola fully refills the life bar if hit at the right moment. Learn where they appear in each stage.
• Mind the finale: if you face Mr. X in the last stage and refuse his offer, you'll fight him alone. Accepting the deal leads to the bad ending.
• Use weapons: knives and pipes can be thrown. Throwing a weapon right at an enemy knocks them down from a safe distance.
• Play co-op: two-player mode makes the game much easier, and sharing picked-up food helps keep both players alive for the ending.
• Learn boss patterns: bosses telegraph attacks with animations; jump away and punish right after their moves.
• Difficulty and lives can be adjusted in the options menu: raise the difficulty gradually to master your combos.
