Silent Hill 4: The Room
Overview
Silent Hill 4: The Room is the fourth installment in the Silent Hill survival horror series. The game is similar to the past entries in terms of atmosphere, never letting the player know what's behind the next corner or down the street. Aside from the traditional third-person-view, there is now a first-person mode which is used to control the main character when he is in his apartment. Objects that can be interacted with are highlighted by eyeball icons. The previous games in the series have mostly been about exploring the town and solving puzzles, but this installment has much more combat involved. There are more enemies in a given area, spread in cramped spaces. The main character mostly uses a standard Silent Hill arsenal of weapons, such as the steel pipe, pistol and a golf club.

Silent Hill 4: The Room (PS2/PC/Xbox) – Secrets & Tips
• Soccer ball: the ball found in Room 302 can be kicked repeatedly; after several kicks it becomes a usable ball weapon.
• Holy Candle: it can be blessed in Room 302 and exorcises the room's cursed hauntings, very useful before heading out on an adventure.
• Saint Medallions: place them where hauntings appear in the apartment to remove them permanently.
• Protect Eileen: escorting her and preventing damage improves your ending options; her health condition during the final battle influences which ending you get.
• Blessing a weapon temporarily increases its power; bless your best weapon before enemy-heavy areas.
• Don't waste rations and potions on minor injuries; save them for the final sections of the game, where supplies are scarce.
• Ghosts won't kill you in one hit, but they stun you: if surrounded, use wide-swing weapons or run instead of fighting.
