NieR (2010) - Tips, Unlockables and Secrets
• NieR has no official cheat codes, but these well-known unlockables and tips will help you master the game.
• New Game+: after beating the game you can restart keeping your level, weapons, money and Words, with tougher enemies and new story scenes.
• Easy money: fish at Seafront beach. Selling your catch (especially rare species) is one of the fastest ways to earn gold.
• Words: obtained by completing side quests and from certain points. Equip them on weapons and magic for attack, defense or MP absorption bonuses.
• Work on the gardening quests for the Seafront florist to obtain the Lunar Tear rose, required for the true ending path.
• Endings B, C and D: finishing the story and playing through again unlocks more content; the true ending requires multiple playthroughs and collecting all the Key Fragments.
• Upgrade weapons at the Seafront blacksmith and gather materials in advance: some only appear in specific areas or hunting quests.
• Pro tip: level up before the midpoint of the game, learn to dodge with the guard maneuver, and use Dark Magic with a well-chosen Word to speed up combat.
