Overview
Garry's Mod is a physics sandbox. There aren't any predefined aims or goals. We give you the tools and leave you to play.
You spawn objects and weld them together to create your own contraptions - whether that's a car, a rocket, a catapult or something that doesn't have a name yet - that's up to you. You can do it offline, or join the thousands of players who play online each day.
If you're not too great at construction - don't worry! You can place a variety of characters in silly positions. But if you want to do more, we have the means.

Garry's Mod console commands and tips
• Enable the console in Options > Keyboard > Advanced, then open it with the ~ key.
• Type sv_cheats 1 in the console to enable cheat commands (only where you have permission, such as your own server).
• noclip: toggles no-clip mode, letting you fly through walls freely.
• god: toggles invincibility; use god 0 to turn it off.
• give weapon_physcannon: spawns the enhanced gravity gun to move props and NPCs from a distance.
• thirdperson: switches to third-person view; firstperson switches back.
• Use the Balloon and Thruster tools to build vehicles, and combine them with Weld for stable contraptions.
• Keep thruster force multipliers low and place ropes carefully so your builds don't glitch or fly apart on spawn.
